In addition to being the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of XponentialWorks,Avi is also a General Partner at OurCrowd First, Israel’s most active early-stage venture fund, seeding and scaling high-tech companies that are computing and actuating the connected world with significant stakes in 18 portfolio companies. He is Vice-Chairman of Techniplas, a leading global design and manufacturing provider of automotive products and services and Chief Executive Officer of Techniplas Digital, a digital innovation and transformation unit that is accelerating the migration of cognitive technologies from the edge of development to the core of Techniplas operations, products and services.
Before forming XponentialWorks, Avi served as 3D Systems(NYSE:DDD) President, Chief Executive Officer and Director for twelve years. Under Avi’s leadership, 3D Systems emerged as a formidable global 3D printing provider with revenue growth exceeding 6 fold and market valuation growing over 12 fold. During his tenure the company was ranked the 13th most Innovative Growth Company in the world by Forbesin 2014 and was named the 5th Fastest Growing Company in the U.S. and the country’s 2nd Fastest Growing Tech Company by Fortune Magazinein 2013.
For the preceding twenty-two years, Avi held senior executive leadership positions with Sealed Air(NYSE:SEE) a leading global provider of food safety and security, facility hygiene, and product protection solutions. Avi also sat on the Board of Directors of HarmanInternational (NYSE: HAR) a leading provider of connected products for the past two years until its acquisition by Samsung Electronics.
In 2014 Avi was named as one of the Top 25 Makers Who Are Reinventing the American Dream by Popular Mechanics Magazine. The same year he delivered a visionary TED talktitled ‘What’s Next in 3D Printing’ that was already viewed by over 2.5 million viewers. In 2013, Avi was listed as one of Fortune Magazine’sTop 50 business leaders, in 2012, he received the Financial TimesBoldness in Business award and in 2011 he was a recipient of the 2011E&YRegional Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Avi remains a hands-on inventor with over 30 patents credited to his name. He has spent a career foretelling the convergence of exponential technologies and its unlimited potential with insights that are sought out by numerous organizations including Ag-Tech IoT leader Centaur, Media-Tech innovator ElasticMedia, and 3D printing disruptorNexa3D, three game changing companies, where Avi is a Founder and Executive Chairman.
Avi currently serves as part of Singularity University’score faculty, a member of theXPRIZEInnovation Board, and a trustee of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
